AI and Human Dignity: Ten Questions We Must Keep Asking
Technology Needs Moral Questions
Artificial intelligence will continue to become more capable. That makes questions of purpose and responsibility more important, not less.
Does this use of AI protect human dignity? Who is accountable when an AI-assisted decision causes harm? Can people understand and challenge important automated decisions? Are privacy and human agency protected? Does technology strengthen relationships? Are we verifying information? Who benefits and who bears the costs? What happens to work and education? What responsibilities do we owe future generations? Are we becoming more capable without becoming less wise?
These questions do not reject innovation. They help ensure that innovation remains accountable to human flourishing.
